Fossil fuels are dead. And in about 150 years someone will get around to burying them. Dont worry Biloshi fossil fuels are going to be around for a very long time.
''Are dead''....that's the present tense. I just got back from Ottawa, drove there in my Dodge Caravan getting about 100 km out of 9 litres of gas. I didn't see a single Tesla on the road, although I might have driven by a Prisus....I don't know, but even a Prius still uses gas.
My vehicle is a 2014, and I'm likely going to own it for another 4 or 5 years at least....I have a tendancy to drive my cars until they're ready for the junk yard. Maybe in another 4 or 5 years I will consider an EV....that will depend on a lot of factors, principle among them being cost. Not just the cost of the vehicle of course, even if an EV is cost effective the cost of charging it will factor in.
We shall see....but as I said in my earlier post, I don't think gasoline (and by extension oil) is going away anytime soon...Even PM Trudeau's remarks which sparked this whole debate, he has since said he ''misspoke''. Here's a National Post article....JT talks about 100 years from now, I don't think it'll take that long but saying fossil fuels ''are'' dead is just plain ignorance. If they were the price of a barrel wouldn't have gone from $30 or so at the start of last year to $50 or so now.
