PLAINVIEW, NY - 2/28/17 - NeuLion, Inc. (TSX: NLN), a leading technology product and service provider specializing in the broadcasting, distribution and monetization of live and on-demand digital video content to Internet-enabled devices, today announced that its subsidiary MainConcept GmbH has licensed MainConcept® HEVC/H.265 Decoder SDK to Soliton Systems for HD preview and playback in its new STC HD View software for its Smart-telecaster Zao portfolio.
The Smart-telecaster Zao series is a small, hand-sized device that can be plugged in to any professional camera via HD-SDI, HDMI or other supported interface. It is a portable HEVC/H.265 hardware encoder which additionally serves as a video transmitter. The Smart-telecaster Zao device encodes the recorded HD-quality video into HEVC/H.265 format, which can then be transmitted over any IP network such as 3G/4G, satellite or Wi-Fi. The reduced bandwidth requirements of HEVC/H.265 help broadcasters to provide better HD quality video compared to AVC/H.264.
The highly flexible and reliable MainConcept HEVC/H.265 Decoder SDK offers multi-stream, real-time playback with extremely low latency on standard server platforms in Soliton Systems' STC HD View software. Operators have the opportunity to monitor up to four full HD live HEVC video streams delivered over the internet on a single screen. These four streams can further feed into the editor's broadcast system via HD-SDI. Moreover, the STC HD View application is able to record incoming streams as local files for archiving purposes.
