RE:RE:RE:RE:BlackBerry was paying Qualcomm $17 per phone?I believe Chen mentioned something about revenues regarding the KeyOne and Aurora. I remember he said not much would show up initially and that BlackBerry would record the revenue as it ramps up over the first two quarters. I think they get their royalty once the device is considered "sold" which is after it could be returned for a refund by the customer.
I think you'll be able to buy an unlocked KeyOne from Rogers or any other carrier - or you can get it for really cheap on a 2 year plan, but I believe you can buy one unlocked from the carriers.
I don't think we'll see much (if any) KeyOne revenues recorded in the upcoming quarter, but we should start to see the Aurora device revenues that has been sold exclusively in Indonesia.
This upcoming quarter will be a good one for BlackBerry but I don't think we'll see much revenue from device royalties until next quarter and the quarters afterward.
