The pref B's disappearing will only happen if there are less than 1,000,000 shares outstanding after conversion.  The same provision exists for the D's but I don't see that happening this time around. More info on the individual series Bombardier Share info

I for one hope there will be B's left after the coversion (there are over 9,000,000 now). Once the conversion date passes I expect there to be a differential in the pref B and pref D prices as the yields come closer together.  If that happens I will sell the higher priced D's and buy back the lower priced pref B's to benefit from any rate rise over the next 3 to 4 years.
