DESTINY SUED BY FORMER PRESIDENT STEVE VESTERGAARD
2017-09-08 10:23 ET - Street Wire

by Mike Caswell

Former Destiny Media Technologies Inc. president Steven Vestergaard has filed a lawsuit against the company in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, claiming that Destiny wrongfully dismissed him and that management defamed him. He says that the company wrongfully accused him of poor attendance and of acting in a conflict of interest. The company's actions damaged his reputation and caused him humiliation and mental distress, he claims.

The allegations are contained in a notice of claim that Mr. Vestergaard filed at the Vancouver courthouse on Sept. 5, 2017. In the suit, Mr. Vestergaard identifies himself as the founder of a Destiny predecessor, with his employment at the company going back to 1991. On the date of his dismissal, he was earning $260,000 per year plus options. His benefits included five weeks of paid vacation, a monthly car allowance, a cellphone and extended health coverage.
