RE:RE:AlibabaAlipay is not Blockchain tech. It’s more like PayPal. The difference being the value associated. Alipay focuses more on payments from one party to vendors. Revolupay is more into cross border money transferring and payments which Blockchain tech allows for navigating red tape.
Although they are similar, Alibaba does not (to my knowledge) have Blockchain infrastructure set up, which is what CUV we’re going for so Alibaba would not be a logical Partner to facilitate this for CUV.
That said, Alipay is stepping into new territories. They currently have around 54% market share in China, down from 71% after WeChat took some of their market share.
Its possible Alibaba is interested in working with CUV to expand their horizons into this tech since they already have the other side buttoned up. The benefit to CUV is obvious, the benefit to Alibaba is a team that knows the market intrinsically and has Vesilen to put the network in place, significantly reducing Alibabas investment risk.
The value of Alipay and WeChat (see Google, Facebook) is in tracking user spending habits, buying habits in order to better customize their experince, offer targeted ads etc, it’s know as “siloed info” and it’s what gives Facebook and Google their meaty market shares.
Revolupay is not that, not are other cryptos, instead they offer big financial institutions a great way to streamline their sevices and thus save money. Not to mention the benefit to the user.
So no, I do not believe we will see Alipay in Cuba, but we may see some kind of JV between CUV and Alibaba.
