I think there is something going on with "private purchases" of COP stock with same 2 houses doing the buying/selling... I would be surprised if the 10 cents back-stop is breached by day's end or Market On the Close (MOC)...As of Dec. 1, 2017, only 26,000 shares were shorted...If COP goes to zero, that person will make a grand total of $2,600. A real winner !!! TO WIT as per IIROC: If a Participant has agreed to buy a block of stock from a client and is moving the market down to the agreed print price, should an order entered for the purpose of displacing the market be designated as a short sale?... No. These orders are not required to be designated as short sales as per IIROC. In this situation, the Participant is considered to be long as the Participant committed to purchase the position from the client prior to displacing the market.
