Quick JudgementsWhile I appreciate clean air and water as much as anybody, we also need good paying
long term jobs to sustain us into the future. We have all kinds of bright people in university
and technology shools within this province who could and should be put to work on problem
solving ideas for resource developement. Why do we have to take such an adversarial postion
every time a resource project is put forward? Can't we be more creative and smarter than
this such as nf has suggested in his posts? Dust, sound, water quality are all things that
can be remediated with some thoughtful planning and joint co-operation for the benefit of
all concerned. Why can't we switch the conversation from win/lose to win/win for all?
Instead of NO for every project that comes forward for approval, why can't the attitude be
"yes, we would love to have this project succeed if you can show us how you would address
our concerns". We have a code and inspectors who have the ability to enforce our codes
should they be broken but simply to be against resource developement because it isn't a
post card of beautiful B.C. is self defeating and luddite like in attitude. We will all be the losers
in the end as the only jobs left for our young people will be working in the MMJ sector after
Trudeau makes it legal.
