RE:Reversing of the Warburg effect done with Dr. RueckI pointed out to Roger by email that the Nov. 27 PR erred in regard to when Dr. Warburg (b. 1883, thus a mere lad of 18 years at the year 1901, which marked the Turn of the 20th Century, not the 19th Century)...the Nobel Prize he won was presented in 1931 for work done "around the 1920s":
"Around the 1920s, Otto Warburg and his group of colleagues were able to conclude that by [depriving] tumor cells of glucose and oxygen, they would be able to deprive tumor cells of energy."
"Normal cells primarily produce energy through mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation. However, most cancer cells predominantly produce their energy through a high-rate of glycolysis followed by lactic acid fermentation even in the presence of abundant oxygen, this is called aerobic glycolysis, also termed the Warburg effect."
