What Nextel seems to be offering is the ability to support users who subscribe to the services offered by its "partners". The client makes arrangements to subscribe to the service with the "partner" and then Nextel would provide the air time. In the case of EWD, however, Nextel is directly marketing the service to its own customers. Big difference - with the edge to EWD. Although the pie is only so big, I think the rationale here may be primarily to bring the "partner's" clients on board Nextel, not to sell the partner client services to Nextel customers. JMHO.
