I loved the company and business model but more importantly - the management is so capable.

I want to suggest this is a real possibility based on few factors.

Jet may well be in the sights of a ULCC based in the U.S.
Existing U.S. based ULCC's currently have no other means to expand but within the U.S. market.
Europe is covered etc.
Why would it not make sense that they look north to Canada as its a natural fit and easy to manage.
It could feed their existing U.S. network and give them a significant advantage over other U.S. based ULCC competitors. Jet gives them a turnkey operation and they simply finance liftoff.
So perhaps the aggresive buying is not so surprising after all.
They may be accumulating as much as they can now....then launch a takeover offer.

It might explain recent events.

foreign ownership is restricted to 49% do you can put that one to rest
