Why doesn't your father just invest it himself?

What was the purpose or advantage of telling everyone on this board that you received a gift?

Since you did not earn this money, you would be less likely to appreciate the risks associated with investing it;
- in which case, any additional comments you make about investments will probably not be taken seriously

So many questions with a comment like that...
