Issue: are Institutions net sellers, driving down price?

Issue: are Institutions net sellers, driving down price?I checked institional investor holdings reported as of Oct 9, 2018.  I used either the Globe and Mail or Reuters websites since Morningstar has now locked that information behind a paywall.

Institutions hold 37% of SOX shares.  There are 18 holders for a total of 10,254,628 shares.  The 3 month reported net change in their holdings is -4,141 shares.  In other words, no change in 3Q.  One institution closed out their position, 2 institutions reduced their positions, and 2 institutions increased their positions.

Conclusion is that Institutional holdings are not driving the share price down in 3Q/2018 from $7.70 at the end of 2Q to $5.70 at the end of 3Q. (And to $4.81 today).  This is not what I expected.
