Another consideration
Another considerationOne thing that doesn't get discussed here that also warrants consideration is who the CEO is himself. Tony is already a billionaire. So what does that matter?
Well, my thought is this. If you're a billionaire, you've already reached the point where you can do whatever the heck you like. So the only compelling reason to do anything at that point is because you really want to. And my guess is, you're sure as hell not doing something to fail at it because you don't want that hanging over your head. You don't want your legacy to be that you started a company only to watch it go down into a giant ball of flames.
I became aware of Sunniva through his other company, his winery Poplar Grove. And let me tell you, that is one amazing place. He could leave things exactly as they are there and it would be great. But that isn't who he is. He's pouring money into it to add solar panels to everything. He wants to double the amount of wine they currently make. He's building a hotel... He wants it to be bigger and better. I have a friend who works at the winery who attests to this stuff.
So what's my point here? The point is, all the technical issues aside, if you look at the CEO himself you're going to see someone who wants to make companies bigger and better because that's who he is. I think there have been missteps, no question. But I think in the end, Sunniva is going to be successful because I don't think someone like Tony will view failure as an option.
