With the competitive bid process and subsequent significant drop in price, time (and continued good news (record profit or growth)) are generally required. It takes more than a month and with the markets rolling over, much more time will be required. In the end, the numbers will drive higher valuation however market conditions will drive the multiple. Clearly, the multiples on many stock valuations have dropped over the past 2 to 3 months. VMD is only trading at 6.5 times next years expected EBITDA. Very low for a high growth company but one has to take into account 25% of the revenue base has more risk associated with it. If you do the math, even discounting 100% of this revenue would still put VMD at $6.75 (with a 12x multiple), so the stock is overpriced the potential impact of a competitive bidding process (not a surprise as markets generally over shoot on the high and low side)
