Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

RE:RE:Catalysts

RE:RE:Catalysts Though the rebuttal does not have a legal requirement attached it still is material news that can swing the sp either way and therefore it's contents cannot be revealed to other parties at the exclusion of Aphria shareholders. A large investor could easily complain to the OSC or the SEC that they were denied their rights to transparency while non-shareholders took advantage of the information. I don't think the new Chair would want the headache of explaining to the regulators why Aphria chose to fudge the law.

In the end, the rebuttal shouldn't really matter to a multinational if they have designs on acquiring Aphria. The LATAM properties are not worthless as the short attack implied and they do not constitute the majority of the recognized value in Aphria. If a deal is coming the LATAM holdings won't influence it either way. but the purchase will be judged on what production capacity Aphria is capable of and of course, having to no longer deal with Vic Neufeld. That alone should spark some interest.
