RE:Supreme for a reason
1) Makes for a really healthy plant! 2) under Ontarios current power setup, they may qualify for a green house NAICS code( if demand is min 500 KW), which allows them to enter the Class A rate structure. This would allow them to pay very little for electricity upfront, which can be as low as 1 cent per kWh. However, they would be subject to global adjustment charges which are based on average demand during the 5 peak hours per month. This demand is given a figure based on the percentage of overall demand the facility represents vs overall demand in the province at those times, and used as a multiplier against kWh consumed. The end result can be an all-in cost that varies drastically from month to month, from about 9c to 12c p kwh (higher if your demand and peak demand coincide), based on the likely demand (min 500 KW to qualify for this rate structure) . Unless they have massive battery storage or cogeneration, they won't be shaving their demand peaks, therefore they are certainly not paying anything less than 10c p/kWh. Bruce Power is not separate from the rest of ontarios energy grid, they dont have a direct line to Supreme with favourable rates, I wish! Class A are the most favourable rates, and Supreme is likely in there ( they should be or they need an energy manager). Unfortunately, growing in Ontario is relatively expensive, no matter you slice it. 3) Who is this professor? I would like to look them up.
