Wayland integrates extraction / distillation processes
In October 2018, it was already interesting to report about the Canadian cannabis company Wayland (formerly Maricann). For example, the company provided Canadian pharmacists with a cannabis training program (Leafly reported). In addition, Wayland has signed a supply agreement with the German company Cannamedical (Leafly reported). ICC International Cannabis also caused a stir. Together with other companies, it has started insurance cover for therapeutic cannabinoid treatment in Canada and now wants to bring it to Europe (Leafly reported).

A media report now states that Wayland and ICC are beginning to work together to integrate their extraction and distillation processes as well as the ready-to-manufacture CBD products for the European market. For example, 125,000 kilograms of CBD flowers from Wayland are to be processed for extraction in the polannabis plants of ICC. Subsequently, the processing to distillates.

Vesisorb formulas from Wayland

This will be followed by the use of Wayland's patented Vesisorb formulations to produce ready-to-use CBD fertilizer products and tablets in the EU GMP-certified facilities in Greece. According to their own data, it has been proven that this formula can increase the absorption of fat-soluble drugs many times over.

Increasing the efficiency and profitability of companies

The collaboration between Wayland and the ICC operations can not only increase efficiency in production. The profitability also increases. It also speeds up the time-to-market as it allows the existing distribution channels to be used.

"The integration of extraction and distillation processes is one of the many synergies that we see with Wayland's involvement in International Cannabis. Wayland's team of seasoned pharmaceutical professionals, including European GM Morten Lars Brandt, formerly Vice President of Midmarket Markets at Norgine in Amsterdam, provides integration capabilities across all operations from an experienced team that has done so before. Wayland has built a highly experienced European operations team with upstream, downstream, logistics, construction and sales capabilities. Wayland's operations team includes a number of leading healthcare executives, as well as brand, agriculture and logistics specialists. This initial operational integration will signal to the marketplace that International Cannabis is able to operate world-class cannabis manufacturing facilities and distribution networks, "said Eugene Beukamm, ICC's Chief Executive Officer and Director.

Visits in Greece and Colombia

In addition, it is said that Wayland has visited the ICC facilities in Greece and Colombia. In addition, the process of knowledge transfer for facilities in Denmark, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Portugal has begun.

"Flexible, functional, competent cross-functional teams, GMP production, shared resources, Greek domestic and EU activities in several health sectors should make the integration of cannabis relatively easy and greatly improve the timetable for implementation," said Terry Fretz of Wayland his visit to Greece.

A specialist recruiting process has also been initiated by ICC to recruit an experienced CEO and CEO. This process is supported by a global recruiting company.
