Pushing to the Head of the Cue

Pushing to the Head of the Cue

On speaking to management, in a short discussion yesterday, they have had no timeline given to them nor can they predict a timeline for the contract migration. The President of ROE is in Mexico now, involved in the ongoing migration discussions and meetings. After the presentation was made to Sener, Sener reviewed everything and sent back a number of requests. These were reviewed by ROE and then ROE went back to Sener with the answers and changes. This process has gone on at least three times. Management said that the progress in January was slow and frustrating but the last two weeks there has been progress and it is much more encouraging. ROE and everyone else has to deal with new Ministers in every department along with some new staff who are learning how the new Ministers view everything.

The migration of contracts appears to be conducted in groups and  the first group has been dealt with.

ROE is in the second batch in the cue. ROE is pushing to be the next to be dealt with in that group.  There were six (6) contracts tendered in 2013, which were fairly similar and within a close geographical area. They are being dealt with to a certain extent as a group. Of the six, the Miquetla contract migrated in November, 2018.

The President of ROE met with Pemex people yesterday. Sergio Berumen, who worked for Pemex for years, after being educated in the U.S. is heading up the ROE group in Mexico (there are 12 ROE staff in the Mexico City Office). He is taking the lead role as he knows Pemex. The meetings are ongoing and ROE is pushing everyday.

With respect to the news article that just came out, see the posting by Hydrocarbss, about Pemex doing exploratory work, management said it was unusual for Pemex to release any information, so it was real interesting to see this article.
