Gold Fields Australia Site Visit - Red Hill/Beta Hunt
Gold Fields Australia Site Visit - Red Hill/Beta HuntJust came across this picure show (67 slides in all)
https://www.goldfields.com/pdf/investors/presentation/2014/australia-site-visits/st-ives-gold-mine.pdf
Where Beta Hunt would fit in can be found in this link
https://www.mindat.org/loc-266303.html
For orientation purpose, Beta Hunt is on the north side of the salt flat. You can find out the names of some mines in this St. Ives gold camp by mousing over the mine symbol. Redoubtable Mine Pit (appears in some of the RNX profile showing the 4 verticaL shear zones) is one of the name.
Invincible Mines are not in the picture, but it is located a few km SW of Beta Hunt. It is outside the footprint of Beta Hunt but mentioned here to show the scale of the deposit (+1Moz oz potential).
Back to the 67 slides, you can have a speed reading and skip over some stuff that not relevant. Some key information would be
- Slide 19: scale of the deposits in the area
- Slides 19-43: Pictures of the rock face with different geology and gpt at Athena ore body. This would give the non-geo some idea of what the miners/geos see underground. Athena is the largest ore body at the southern end of the camp (slide 19).
- Slide 61: This is an interesting slide, but I would leave it up to geo expert to comment, especially any potential similarity between This deposit and Beta Hunt.
Note: grade seems to get better as they go deeper. Deepest hole was about 1000m, they sank this hole straight down to test the continuity of the host rock (Au-bearing rock) and see slide 62 for results. Perhaps RNX should do the same. Find a good spot (how about right inside the WF "shear pipe"?) and sink the drill bit straight down. Some of the drill platforms are located in the 350 Level. So, they don't have to go that far to reach the 1000m mark.
