RE:Directors taking pay in DSUsA good sign indeed. I must be in a very small class of investors for whom Corus pretty much their largest individual holding (excluding ETFs etc). I've always believed in the stock and have averaged down until I am now just a few cents away from break-even. If you add in the divis I have received over the last few years I am well above water.
On a fundamental basis, the company looks stronger than it did when it was trading in the low teens. Paying down the debt at a rate of knots, and positive TV trends, not to mention the real gold mine of exploiting content.
What's missing is investor sentiment. This type of stock just turns off investors, because it is seen as old school. Cineplex is in a similar boat in terms of investor sentiment, but it is not the cash cow that Corus is and its trends have been worse. How will this change? We need a catalyst, something to make the market sit up and take notice. Perhaps as the debt continues to fall and trends continue, somebody is going to make a play for Corus.
