If you read the original suit, together with the serious things like piracy of code and business, there were trivial things also listed like the defendants have a table and a set of chairs that belonged to Reliq.

I had the impression that the lawsuit was mostly designed to end defendants' harmful actions than to extract serious punishment like a prison sentence. Seems like there was some personal former friendship involved that led to restraint and enacting a resolution that would do minimal harm. At any rate, those hurdles are, thanfully, now cleared.
