RE:EOG, AOI and AFE are not trading stocks!!!!
Good for you, let the rest of us more experienced investors trade around our core positions. We know that everyone always is afraid of missing a buyout even though they very rarely
occur as quickly as people would like. In the mean time I can trade in and out knowing that my downside risk is limited and every time I do a successful trade I lower my adjusted cost base of my core shares. Mind you, my trading has already resulted in my EOG and AFE shares having negative cost bases. My AOI shares are the only ones that have a cost base close to the current share prices. My OYL shares also have negative cost bases as if you check the OYL chat group you will see that most of my purchases were at 25 cents a share.
I will continue to trade around my core positions as over the years I have learned that lower ones average cost base is the most effective method of gaining good cheap positions in good exploration companies and when things go wrong, as they often can, having a low cost base limits loses considerably.
