RHT and Urban commutes
RHT and Urban commutesConsider how many actual driving commutes to Drs offices to obtain simple monitoring and diagnostic services can be eliminated with interactive remote monitoring. For elderly patients, especially in American cities with jammed freeways costly parking and little of the mass transportation infrastructure typical of developed countries, these commutes can be more than an inconvenience.
Much of the RHT early piloting and testing focused on remote areas with sparse populations and little access to no access to needed medical care. However, access difficulty exists for many in our urban communities too, where the populace is dense and almost totally dependent on mobility that requires driving. Any reduction of commutes also helps reduce costs to patients and reduced contributions to carbon omissions. Telecommuting to work from home has largely caught on in many urban areas. Telecommuting for those medical services that can be met through such a service as RHT provides was bound to happen. I think our growth is just beginning.
