RE:RE:RE:misplaced optimism?Great post.
And to your point about a low float, Friday's trading volume of 258k on all exchanges,
which isn't much higher than our average vol 241,249k, displayed how easily Tinley's share price can jump 17% in a day with no material news..
I think Trump has done all he can do, except turn his trade war into a real war with China, which is very possible if he stays in office.
The Fed went from raising interest rates late last year & early 2019, to cutting interest rates, and along with
"daily" repo operations in the Billions that the Fed has been conducting, there will be several additional offerings that will inject at least another $425 Billion USD into a market that provides short-term funding for the banks by early next year. I'm sure Trump has done all he can in this regard... And that doesn't sound like a stable banking system to me, which is crazy considering it's been a 11yr bull market basically.
If Tinley makes mistakes they don't get to go to the Fed & borrow Billions near zero interest rates.
The good thing is like you said, "hopefully" Trump keeps this pozi going. But the Fed is going to pump up the market in areas owned by BoA, JPM etc etc etc, and if they're going to stay short the cannabis sector then guess what, more pain ahead most likely.. Even if they simply stayed short until the end of next year, at this rate who knows how many cannabis companies will turn back into gold mining companies lol!
I agree that U.S legalization of cannabis will make the Canadian legalization pale in comparison. Based on the number of dispensaries in California alone, which is nearly double all of Canada, we can be thankful our management chose California as a home base, which has the largest cannabis rec market & largest beverage market in the world, except for maybe Asia in regards to beverages. There's likely parts of Asia with a larger beverage market than Cali, but over a vast landmass in comparison most likely...
One thing about a recession that will help cannabis legalization in the U.S is they'll need to create jobs, and fast! It's hard for anyone to ignore this,
"2018-2019 YOY job growth in the cannabis industry generated nearly 82,000 jobs." "If full legalization occurred in all 50 states today, there would be in excess of 1.46 million jobs, increasing to 1.63 million jobs by 2025."
U.S. Federal Cannabis Legalization Could Be Worth $128.8 Billion in Taxes and 1.6 Million Jobs. U.S. Federal Cannabis Legalization Could Be Worth $128.8 Billion in Taxes and 1.6 Million Jobs Rant over.
