why would ETFs dump it?
ETFs are not hedgefunds.
XRE and ZRE both follow the s&p capped REIT index https://us.spindices.com/indices/equity/sp-tsx-capped-reit-index https://web.tmxmoney.com/index_constituents.php?qm_symbol=^RTRE which is based on capitalization of REITs.
Unless the s&p dumps its weighting car.un because the stock gets killed nothing like that is going to happen. Look at REI.UN despite fears for years over shopping malls and such it was not dropped from the index.
