I see Canopy and Aphria starting to seperate themselves from the rest, but it will be in the second half of 2020. Aphria has had 2 quarters of profit and has over $400 million in cash. It will report ti's next quarter in mid-January and if profitable again could be good news for all (I don't own any Aphria any more). OGI and ACB will face a very tough 2020 and may not make it past 2020. This will be good news for Canopy as it will increase it's market share, especially in the medical side with the higher margins and in pot 2.0.
I see Canopy growing its revenue in Europe (Germany especially) and with Storz & Bickel. It should really start to see its revenue grow in Ontario with the opening of more stores, but that won't be until the latter half by the time the stores are up and running and selling. CEO Klein will start his path to profitability in January and we should start to see news releases on cost control measures which will be good news. Canopy will need to hit $250 million in revenue by Q3 at end of 2020 if the stock is to be much higher from here. As I've posted, I think they can given Klein will be laser focused on revenue growth and CFO Lee knows where all the triming needs to be done.
The big wild card will be the US. Jurassic Joe is against pot and he is the front runner so not good so far. Bernie is in favor, but likely won't win. Hilary may still run and she is in favor. I think Trump may surprise us with the States Act as he may need something to get him elected if the economy is not strong. He knows that well over 60% of Americans are in favor of legalization in one form or another so it's an easy win.
Good luck to us all in 2020 as it will be the year of transition from the many pot companies to the cash strong few.
Hey LedZep, I hope all is well. Man I didn't think I'd ever say this but if Trump is in favour of federally legalizing and pushes this come election time I may have to cheer that orange maggot on. There is still time for someone to talk some sense into Biden, we can all only hope!
