Flyht-past and future
Many years ago some of us became enamored with Flyht as we were convinced by the company's persuasions as to the benefits to the airlines. The company itself believed that and on the surface it made sense. But it turned-out to be a miscalculation, not because the concept was devoid of logic, but because it didn't consider things like continual airline exigencies, constant financial constraints and just plain big industry inertia. It appears that some of us as investors were sold on the advantages of the product well before the executive decision-makers at the airlines. Beyond that there was the simple reality that in an industry with many big players of long standing and with lengthy interrelationships, an unknown pipsqueak company with no track record or credibility and minuscule financial resources wasn't going to garner any attention or make meaningful inroads. Nobody important was going to deal with us.
I think things are now different. Little- by- little we have developed relationships, installed products and accrued a successful track record. People in the industry know about Flyht now and we have done collaborations with other industry actors. The product has been validated and substantially upgraded to the point that we now offer functionalities that no-one else does. Things like real-time black box and voice streaming and situational awareness. In the context of the new mandate timelines and the direction in which the industry is moving we have reached the place where Flyht's product is now needed. The past is what it is but there is a new vista opening-up.
Maybe I just have an untethered imagination, or maybe things really are different now. However, I think there is momentum and evidence to suggest the very real possibility of a bright future.
