RE:RE:Perspective I won't quibble with your comment that people who are dying from COVID-19 may have been in poor health; but stock market participants are also well aware of the fact that young doctors from Wuhan have also died from this virus. Included amongst them are Li Wenliang (the doctor who initially tried to warn his co-workers about this epidemic back in December), as well as hospital administrators, including the director of one of the major hospitals in Wuhan.
There is still lots that we don't know about this virus, and markets hate uncertainty.

The Chinese government stated that the people who died  in that country were already in a state of poor health. That is generally the case with pandemics. ...compromised immune systems and so on.
