THC sticks to inner lining of cansDropped in on a new MJ dispensary this weekend and noticed an empty fridge in the corner in anticipation of MJ beverages release, no doubt. When I asked the cashier when they were expecting delivery of bevs, he said they are delayed indefinitely until producers resolve the THC sticking issue. Since beer and soda cans are lined with a type of plastic to prevent any reaction with the aluminium it would seem that it's not so good for THC. THC sticks to the plastic and reduces the concentration of the drink....All MJ beverage producers may have to switch to glass bottles, hence the delays.
These drinks are starting to leave a sour taste in my mouth because aside from the delay, there will be a cost to retool the bottling line. Even more disgraceful is the fact that they should have known this by testing prior to implementation, not to mention the experience that could have been drawn from other sectors and producers.
This sticky issue would not be a problem if the THC concentration would be closer to 10 mg per drink (as perdrinks in the past). There would still be enough pot in the drink to get you high regardless of what would stick to the liner. But because they decided to spike the drinks with 2 mg, the drop in the buzz would be noted.
Despite this,I am all for the low dose given that HEXO is targeting a whole new demographic.
No ETA on the fix...more patience, arrhh!!!!!
