RE:RE:RE:RE:Canada needs to toughen short selling rulesI agree it is simply my point of view, I come from the world of shorting issues and back filling at auction, or Repo markets where shorts can be covered by borrowing a security, it is a world where "squeezes" are common, but the amounts ran into the billions often. In equities the shorts pay a premium to borrow the shares,I call that liquidity. I once advised the CEO of Shopify when he was throwing a hissy about people shorting his stock, his IR people were not doing their job. I set up LGO in the Bourse to allow for trading options, apart from some anamolous large trades, it has remained simply retail, although in the past when long I have done covered calls.
