THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH SHORT SELLING !!!

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH SHORT SELLING !!!I have posted this here and in other stock discussion groups. Looks Like I have to post it again ...

There is absolutely nothing wrong with short selling. In fact, short sellers help add liquidity to the markets.

When stocks are rocketing up and you are desparate to buy at any price (because of FOMO) but there is zero on the asks, the short seller will gladly step in to the market and fill your order. He is taking a huge risk to do you a favor. Short sellers must trade in a margin account, thus they are more leveraged than the average trader. If that stock he sold you continues to go up the short seller is open to unlimited loss and might be forced to close out his position at the worst possible time because of margin calls.

On the other hand, in times like these when traders want to exit the market at any price but there are absolutely ZERO BIDS, once again, it is the short seller who is happy to provide needed liquidity and buy your shares in order to close out his trade.

Of all volumes traded, very little is actually done by shorters, but at the two extremes of the market they will step in and provide needed liquidity which otherwise would not be there. They are a legitimate part of the market and you should thank a short seller today !!!
