Rumbo Minero interviewed Ulises solis at PDAC 2020
Mark 23:25:
We are with Mr. Ulises Solis. He is the general manager of Macusani Yellowcake which made the news two years ago when they discovered a large, large lithium deposit. Mr. Solis, in this PDAC appointment we have that the Minister of Energy and Mines has spoken of the importance of lithium as a possibility for Peru. What impressions do you have on this?
Well, it does not surprise me, because in the end we all know and the country knows the importance of this deposit. Especially for the southern region, the Puno region, which is so badly hit in these times by the weather that has been adverse for the country. But, we are part of the solution, I believe, taking this project forward, and what can be better than the positive comments from both the Minister and the President of INGEMMET, and not only for lithium but also for uranium, as we have been waiting for the regulations both for the commercialization and for the transport of uranium.
It is worth reminding viewers that if Peru develops this lithium deposit in Puno, it could become first the second largest producer and 5 years later the world's largest lithium producer.
It is completely true. With a low investment, a little more than 600 million dollars we would enter a first stage that would make us the second largest producer of lithium carbonate in the world.
Great. So we will continue to hear from you for sure.
Have no doubt. We are about to start our stage of changing resources to reserves. We have a good relationship with the communities and we have to continue, this project is important for the Puno region and for the country.
