RE:RE:Shovel ready work
RE:RE:Shovel ready workAlso you need to know that during 2008/09 period SO changed their BD model to one where all employees were doing BD and was engaged with clients. FalconFlight is correct in saying that the relationships were between senior leaders, clients and elected officials and that contributed 95% to SO being successful in landing some of the stimulus projects.
By changing the BD model in 2008 the only thing that happened is that the BD Leader (Polson) pushed his responsibility to get work and his accountability down to the employees, so he could blame the regions for not picking up work and growing the business. I don’t believe Polson has landed any significant projects that helped SO to further their business in the past 10 years. Maybe one or two but if you look at 10 years x $550m revenue ave = $5.5B. Not sure if Polson landed 10% of that………..Those golf games are pretty expensive if you do the calculation, ratio of projects per lost golf balls…….
My advice to you if you are not already doing it, get in front of the clients and the government, as Polson’s friends in the industry are few and LeMays are even less.
