For starters, oil is presently not the main driver of the Canadian economy, but sadly real estate is. Canadian FIs have increased their exposure in the housing& infrastructure financing business, and divested from the energy patch. Ask any e&p how hard it is to get financing now!

Lightspeed has a lot of private equity financing. Their focus is in the small to medium business space, especially in eastern Canada & USA.

Depressed oil prices will certainly sink the CAD$ which will be good for LSPD on foreign earnings.
