RE:RE:RE:RE:Old news, but it is good to remember, The political economics of Bombardier is night and day for Quebec as it is for Ottawa. For Ottawa, because the media has done such as good job bashing Bombardier (eg Dianne Francis), and because the banks run the country and don't care about this kind of company, Bombardier is a liability. Superficially they support it but reality they are scheming to dismantle it at every turn. For Quebec, they need this type of industry. They don't have the HQ's, the sports franchises that Toronto has, they don't have oil and gas that the West has, and most immigration with money (which brings up banking, real estate, construction, education, retail, ) goes to Ontario and BC. For Legault govt, no doubt they want Bombardier successful. Problem is they don't have that much money. Caisse has money and it must be used to support these key industries. That's why the way CDPQ got involved with Bombardier was a strategic disaster for Quebec. The other disaster is letting the family control the company - a governance fiasco basically. And that too they can't let happen anymore. The governance should be like BRP.
