RE:Deep Space and Houndstooth

RE:Deep Space and HoundstoothI have tried all 3 Canopy/Tweed flavours and I can honestly say that they are no competition from the Tinley beverages I enjoyed last year in Cali.
Here's a quick breakdown of my Tweed experiences.
Bakerstreet
is the best tasting of the bunch but I'm partial to mixing gingerale in my alcohol drinks. It did have the same cannabis taste I've noticed in the gummies I've tried but not objectionable. My main reason for not drinking more of these is the 30 g of sugar per can. That is on par with a can of coke. I cannot justify that much sugar over a night of social drinking. The buzz is a little light but when added to a 5mg chocolate or 1 of my 10mg Canopy softgels, it adds up to a fun evening

Houndstooth
is a very light soda lime???? concoction that I think has a parseley flavour but no cannabis flavour. I'm not a big fan of soda water drinks so this is an acquired taste. I have purchased them 3 times and I'm finding the flavour is becoming less an issue over time. It's still not enjoyable to my palette but it is drinkable. The buzz is a little light and needs numerous cans or an additional boost from a softgel to enjoy a full buzz.

Deep Space
should be placed on Elon Musk's rocketship and blasted exactly to where the name comes from, Deep Space. This drink was beyond deep space in objectionable flavour. Why they even consider selling this is beyond me and Deep Space. It's like a cola that was made from the water of the tarsands and has the same colouration. The foam was of a brown colour like you would see from sea foam on heavily polluted beaches. If Swamp Thing created a drink, this is it. It was $10 a can at the dispensary Eggs Canna in Vancouver and the 10 mgs did not pack the punch I expected. i'd rather do 2 or 3 Houndstooth and get a better high. If they were really going for a cola substitute then the only thing they came close on was the colour. An epic fail along the depths of the Marianna trench

I will say this about beverages. All 3 dispensaries I visited say they are selling really well and sell out as do the dispensaries I speak to on the phone. They also love the concept of Tinley's alcohol-inspired drinks especially after I tell them how great tasting they are. They will be looking to add them to their stores when available (hello Jeff). I still think and always have that Tinley missed the  writing on the wall when it comes to the importance of Canada as a beverage market. I really hope this is rectified and very soon. If not for the company then at least for my poor taste buds. We will blow out any competition that I have tried thus far.

Lastly, I see beverages infused with THC as a massive competition for alcohol. I think many people will drink cannabis beverages in their social settings instead of alcohol. Being able to enjoy an elevated high while remaining lucid and social with friends or at the bar is a game changer. I understand why Constellation poured $5 billion into this. They see it too.

geodcan wrote: have first strike advantage in Canada while Tinley has at least 5 infused offerings in California.  It is nice to hear from consumers that are looking for alternative beverages to alcohol and the prices they are willing to pay to try.  First sale is easiest and for a lot of those chiming in on Canopy's beverages, would you try an alternative if your first experience was less than tasty or effective?  I've been to the supply store 3 times for Canopy beverages and I don't think they are particularly good, but they are what I can get and they are pricey by comparison to alcohol.  I'm pretty sure that Canopy isn't stopping with Canada and have their eyes on the US bigtime.  For those that don't know, they have been picking up cbd operations Stateside and they have a deal that will be effective in the future with Acreage Holdings who are a Multi State Operator and have put together a significant package of what is needed in several States that are allowing.  The trigger is going to be getting Fed and State to sync with what the States want to grow their pot and hemp businesses.  Tinley's management has persevered and got our offerings on shelves in California, got a bottling facility built to reduce our costs, generate revenue for co-packing but are still waiting on final licensing and inspections to fire it up.  Tinley has done all of this with little more than word of mouth via social media, that is to say, nothing by way of conventional advertising or even info-mercials.  Tinley also has a world class team of beverage professionals and formulators who are sitting on their hands until such time as management feels is right, to see what they can do.  Some of that management has a lot of skin in the game and their renumeration is pegged to some lofty numbers being achieved for which the clock is ticking.  I did read that another bottling facility got the go-ahead recently and I believe that it is going to happen soon for Tinley.  Investors that are close and informed to this new vice launch can see that this has a ton of potential and dollars will follow.  Tinley is on shelves in a  40 million consumer marketplace with award winning products and also has a new line of sober curious offerings that seem to be doing well.  We are pure beverage, in a field with some heavy hitters lurking on the sidelines and going to school on our team to find out how it's done.  glta and dyodd
