Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

A Challenging Day

A Challenging DayThough I seldom write, I do visit on occasion.  Thank you to those who are posting well informed thoughts.  I am trying to put some of this in context and would appreciate any insights some might have about why we are suffering a 17 percent drop.  When I read about the write downs and the ATM this morning I was expecting it would not be a great day.  I was anticipating a 5 to 10 percent hit.  The conference call was lacklustre.  It felt as though both Irwin Simon and Carl Merton were reading from a script about how "excited" they were. I was disappointed by much of what was said...but not to the tune of 17%.  It was a rather significant run up to earnings, but we did meet analyst expectations.  Any insights as to why we are being hammered so hard today?
