RE:Gap Ottawa 10, I assume the gap you refer to is the jump from the mid 60’s to an open of .74 on the day following the PP news. Yes, most gaps get filled and when they don’t, most chartists think a structural weakness gets built into in the stock resulting in retracement, - in the case of GSI that would be back .64
But a sensational piece of market news, something that completely alters our fundamental perception of how we view the company can invalidate the gapping rule completely! In the case of GSI, and the PP news -perhaps not a complete retracement back to .64 but just to the upper end of the gap point .74-75. Then after that, I totally agree with you, “an aggressive move back up.”
Nasdaq’s performance today indiscriminately tars everything with its brush. I don’t think GSI’s market close will be near its low.
