The market-makerIMO, the market-maker employed by GSI is receiving direction from management to dampen the speculative froth so that the SP will only respond to actual news releases by the company. SP did not hit .99 last week, -and even though it did so today, it seems firmly whacked back.
Operating under the direction of management does not mean it’s possible to control the SP (too many variables), but somehow, I sense a firm hand.
Is managements objective to keep certain players out of the GSI sandbox, like short-sellers and day-traders? I think so.
On days where we do have official company announcements, the market-maker will not be taking a banker’s holiday but his presence will have a more charitable demeanor. He won't have the whip!
