If it gets filled, in it's entirety, only then is it real.
Why would anybody telegraph a move like that in a quiet market? Answer: intimidation. Of course that assumes they're not morons and would have sufficient IQ to come up with the intimidation idea.
Right now it's just a another meaningless number. You realize that a bid can be withdrawn at the speed of light with trading algorithims. Many bid/asks are like that, especially when there is good separation between the bid/ask. After all, someone could easily raise the bid to.78 and someone might be willing to fill it at that price.
And if it's a day where there is little or no activity, todayso far, a void of bid/ask activity and no clear direction perceived it's probably market-makers bid/ask. Why should he take any unnecessary risks.There is no altruism here. He wants to make money just as we do.
