RE:Good NR short and ...I can imagine someone putting in a bid and then not being able to follow through. I've seen it before, more than once, but never for a publicly traded company. My family were angel investors with a small piece of a gold mine once. A big chunk of capital was supposed to come from someone whose ability to finance evaporated when certain markets changed. One never knows where money is actually coming from. Few investors keep their money in the bank.
That said, I wouldn't rule out the idea that all this was orchestrated to short the stock.

Possibly even shorting the stock once it went up and getting out by delaying the deal. Lots of possiblities and looks like management held their ground. Bought more this morning and looking forward to financials.
