GLTA!Juniors hit exploration milestones at CentAm, DomRep gold projects Bnamericas Published: Wednesday, December 09, 2020 Exploration / Drilling Gold Juniors hit exploration milestones at CentAm, DomRep gold projects Junior mining companies have advanced exploration efforts at key gold projects across Central America and the Dominican Republic. Companies active in the region have recorded high-grade drill results and announced new acquisitions and exploration programs at five assets since early November. EXPLORATION ADVANCES The following is based on company press releases: 1. Cerro Blanco, Guatemala Bluestone Resources hit two new record intercepts at Cerro Blanco in November, as drilling continues to focus on the South Zone of the asset. The company announced a highlight of 1,380g/t gold over 1.2m on November 19, smashing the previous record of 675g/t gold and 2,863g/t silver over 1.3m reported nine days earlier. Five rigs are drilling the South Zone, aimed at improving the definition of key veins and expanding high-grade mineralization for known veins outside of the current resource envelope. Drilling is building on the results of a 2019 program completed on the North Zone, which resulted in an updated mineral resource estimate of 1.41Moz gold at average grades of 10.3g/t in the measured and indicated categories. Bluestone engaged G Mining Services in Q2 for basic engineering. Detailed engineering work is due to begin by end-2020, following a 2019 feasibility study. 2. La India, Nicaragua Condor Gold began a 4,000m infill drill program within the permitted open pit at La India this month, which will be used to finalize pit designs and mine schedules ahead of production. The program also aims to improve the geological model quality and upgrade inferred resources to the indicated category for potential inclusion in the mine plan. Condor has secured permits for an open pit mine producing 120,000oz/y gold over seven years, which could be lifted to 170,000oz/y by adding an underground operation. The company advanced the project to a shovel-ready state in Q3, with 93% of the surface rights secured within the permitted La India open pit mine site infrastructure area, CEO March Child said in November. 3. San Pedro, Nicaragua Altiplano Metals plans to quickly deliver a maiden mineral resource estimate after acquiring the San Pedro gold project in Nicaragua. The company signed a letter agreement to purchase a 100% interest in San Pedro from four vendors for Cdn$3.0mn (US$2.3mn) in late November. San Pedro comprises mineral property rights covering 16,806ha in the Costa Caribe Sur region, which Altiplano says has yielded promising historical exploration results. The company has identified additional targets at San Pedro to both confirm and expand the continuity of the gold mineralization along the known strike and to depth, CEO Alastair McIntyre said. 4. Eastern Borosi, Nicaragua An independent review of Calibre Minings Eastern Borosi asset showed significant untested discovery potential around all six known vein systems, as well as at two lesser-explored areas. Previous exploration across six deposits resulted in an inferred resource estimate of 4.4Mt averaging 4.93g/t gold and 80g/t silver, containing 701,000oz gold and 11.4Moz silver. Calibre is focused on identifying resource expansion opportunities located within trucking distance of the Libertad complex. Exploration is also ongoing around the Libertad and Limn mines and Pavn project. 5. Neita, Dominican Republic Unigold is advancing exploration drilling at the Candelones Extension deposit at its Neita concession. As of December 1, the company had completed 31 holes (9,470m) of a 15,000m drill program. Latest developments include extending target C by a further 75m to the east and 75m to depth and highlights include 13.0m of 5.17g/t gold, 4.2g/t silver, 0.1% copper and 1.67% zinc at the target. Twenty-two drill holes have been completed, with 12 awaiting results.
