This mask issue should never have been politicized.  Because it's such a small component of infection prevention.  And the arguments in my opinion are all focused upon the size of this small component.  It's silly.

Nobody in their right mind believes the mask to be the key to preventing infection.  What it represents in my opinion is more a symbol of enhanced personal hygiene, public interaction, and social awareness during a time of a virus spread.  If everyone demonstrated this awareness and practiced preventive measures (well beyond the mask itself), we wouldn't have had the f-ucking government place its boot print on the issue.

But when it becomes politicized, the politicians come. Like flies to $hit.  Like cancer.  And they impose their stupid laws.  Proving once and for all that they consistently get it wrong.

And there we have it.  We relinquish power to them because we couldn't engage in a common social etiquette.  Even if it may be of neglible effect.  The breakdown we are seeing has nothing to do with managing a virus.  It is a breakdown in social behavior and cooperation.  And government fills the void with the most destructive outcome.

Welcome to the Dystopia we have brought onto ourselves.

Of course they work. No one says they are 100% effective but any barrier is better than none. Personally I think that since hospitals are once again at the breaking point that the redneck antimaskers should be put on gurneys and left to rot out in the parking lot. Preferably near the storm drains

Sure - they work.  Just as the data shows.

But the data also shows everything else is not working.

And that's why the hospitals are filling up .  Masks and all.  It may be a sign of ignorance.  But it sure as hell is no indication of brilliance.

Well, since I started posting on our beloved Sh#thouse 3 years ago , I have refrained from making political or medical comments here ,apart from two instances .
1.Re little darling Greta... ‘Who are these children that scheme and run wild’
2.Re madicine   ‘You never EVER quarantine healthy people’
So where does that leave  me on masks ? ... I have to disagree with our esteemed manager when he mentioned that they only offer little protection. And I must therfore disagree with our mercurial lead. They actually offer next to zero protection .You cannot see a virus under an opical microscope.  It comes down to nano metres . Masks dont work. If they did they wouldnt let you wear them . And you can drop the droplets . Distraction .Surgeons dont wear masks to stop bacteria or virus transmission. No ,not at all.  And they only have them on for a limited time before disposal .Masks do more harm than any good when worn continuously . Bacteria love those moist conditions . Andso on ,and .....”in the end its just round and round and round .and round ...."
Best left now to Aldous Huxley
“People will come to love their oppression,to adore the technologies that undo their capacities to think”
Oh, and while Im here ...Happy New Year to everybody.....
