Selling a stock because of share consolidation is the same as buying a stock because of a split. The business value didn't change but the investors might turnover because of the signals sent.

It usually doesnt pass the smell test, I personally look for organic growth and nice steady climb. Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but I sell and run when I hear RS. Most end up crumbling after a while, I prefer solid foundation. IMHO
Most solid companies have been built with no RS. They have experienced splits but to add shares.
