Not Good Enough

Not Good EnoughI would guess most retail investors were in last year for the monthly payout and the dividend.   The dividend got cut along with the share price, but not proportionally.   That tells me most of those who bought last year are still holding and are not interested in anything less than the 20 to 25$ that they got in at.   Institutional owners are only about 16% and that probably already includes Brookfield's 9%.    There is no way that $18.25 would fly even if they didnt have those restrictive conditions.

If Brookfield is serious, then they know they will have to significantly increase their bid.   I think they are serious and they have a budget to get to a reasonable price.   I think with the recent rise of the retail investor they wont even get us to sell at a reasonable price.   As one of the previous posts noted, Brookfield intends to make money on the deal.  Why shouldnt we hang on and make that money ourselves.
