RE:The SEPTA Preliminary board meeting I hope that local/regional/ national layers of government bureaucrats (Canada/USA) are prioritizing their allocated budget envelopes/dollars on items that bring in revenue, and/or enhance and increase citizen safety, whether from covid or personal protective safety.
So nothing new here as both items fall into GSI's wheelhouse:
1) $$$ - lane infractions, stop arm infractions - both bring in revenue for local governments
2) Safety - GSI's cameras, now more than ever, are a set of live eyes, and recorded eyes, that will capture, maybe even prevent criminal events from taking place on public transit.
True story from today. I'm staying with my elderly mother for a week. We went for a walk and as we get closer to her house, her neighbor tells us that a city bylaw officer came around the neighborhood and gave people written warnings for not shovelling the sidewalks and that she would be back tomorrow to hand out fines.
Seriously, the funny part is that we just walked the those same sidewalks and they were fine, minimal snow that was already packed down.
My point is that governments need money.....and GSI is here to help facilitate that. Trusting that Doug is using the 'safety' and 'revenue generating' sales pitch at every opportunity.
