10-year Treasury yield holds above 1.4% after spike.
The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield retreated on Friday morning, but remained above the 1.4% mark, after surging to 1.6% in the previous session. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note dipped to 1.489% at 3:30 a.m. ET. The yield on the 30-year Treasury bond fell to 2.276%. Yields move inversely to prices. On Thursday, the 10-year yield jumped more than 16 basis points to 1.614%, its highest level since February 2020 and more than half a percentage point up on the end of January. The move unnerved investors and put pressure on stock markets, with the Nasdaq suffering its worst one-day loss since October.
