The IEEE working groups are dominated by the big corporations, because only they can afford to send for years large numbers of WG members to meetings literally all over the world, usually to high-end resort hotels during peak seasons (e.g., skiing). Of course, these members are the ones who put the appealing characteristics with their corresponding high maximum performance numbers into the amendments. Most articles about the 802.11a/g/n/ac/ax amendment breeds quote the appealing characteristics and the corresponding high maximum performance numbers, which is according the plans of the marketing departments of those corporations.

It is highly likely that these corporations have become concerned that YFI may be a potential competitive threat. Given that all but the most ardent of Trump’s base accept that Russia used social media like Twitter, Facebook, chat groups (similar to this one), etc.) to influence the U.S. 2016 Presidential Election, members of this Bullboard should reasonably expect that agents of the corporations are using it to discredit the YFI technology.
 
It will be easy for anyone, and especially an agent of one these corporations, to cherry-pick website articles to support the corporation’s view of the future that its marking department wants its customers to see. Furthermore, like Trump – it will easy for a corporate agent to also declare “Fake News!” and to produce “alternate facts.”
