"Bitcoiners" are a specific phenomenon. I really can't see Bitcoin ending up as anything in the end, but that's only my opinion. And it surely hasn't represented the success of Bitcoin to date.
But Bitcoin is only a skewed part of the greater story. The emerging utility of Blockchain technology is real. Gold and Silver backed money systems like Kinesis Money that use the Etherium blockchain are actually viable money alternatives. And sound proposals that embrace the concepts of real stores of value AND "smart contracts" technology.
The emergence of Fin-Tech commodity futures trading platforms via Etherium such ABAXX Tech are also extremely viable. Starting with Nat Gas contracts.
Politicians will not be able to stop a technology revolution. They never have. Their sole ambition is trying to figure out a means of taxing it, and getting involved in legalized plunder.
